The Huckleberry Co.

An independent software studio in Indianapolis

Software built with care.

We make small, well-made web apps for the jobs people don't do for a living: hiring someone once in a while, keeping a class together, and whatever comes next. Plain English, fair prices, and your data stays yours.

On the workbench

Two apps so far, each built for one job and finished properly.

SealedApply

The hiring department you don't have.

Applicant tracking and an AI hiring advisor for people who don't hire for a living. Share one link, review together, and know who to talk to first and why.

Made for: founders making a first hire, nonprofits, small businesses, boards and search committees.

CohortHouse

A private home for your group.

One place for a cohort to keep its calendar and RSVPs, photos, files, polls, and chat that syncs with GroupMe, plus one-on-one coffees and an assistant that knows your schedule. Free for up to 20 people.

Made for: leadership programs, fellowships, boards, alumni classes, and retreat groups.

How we work

Small on purpose
Each app does one job well. If you need a training course to use it, we built it wrong.
Plain English
No jargon, no dashboards full of numbers you didn't ask for. Help pages written by people, for people.
Private by default
We don't sell data or show ads. Your information is used to run the app you signed up for, and that's it.
Fair, posted prices
Prices are on the website. No sales calls required, no annual contracts, no charging per seat for people who just need to look.
Finished, then shipped
We'd rather launch fewer things that work than more things that almost do.
Real people answer
Write to us and a person reads it. Every app has a help center and a support address.

Named after Huck

Huck is a bulldog. He's steady, a little stubborn, and he never rushes a job. That's the plan for the software too.
